LEARNING IN PESANTREN HIDAYATULLAH SURABAYA

ROLE

I study in high school Luqman Al-Hakim is the learning-based model. Thus, all students including me follow the things that precedent from the teachers. Apart from the teacher all the students are also required to emulate the behavior, attitudes and mindset of the Prophet Muhammad. Thus, we expected to become exemplary human beings.

Some of the activities I did in high school Luqman Al-Hakim is a new one a few months I go through the planting of plants, like tomatoes, corn and chilies. We planted a few plants to supply the needs in the kitchen.
As the caliph on earth, as has become the duty to protect the environment. Therefore, my friends and make every effort to keep the environment in order to stay clean and green. One way is to plant as many plants around the Pondok Pesantren Hidayatullah. And make Pondok Pesantren Hidayatullah become a green campus.

HISTORY OF THE PESANTREN HIDAYATULLAH SURABAYA

Pesantren Hidayatullah Surabaya was established on November 28, 1986. Pioneered by young children who are completing college at various Universities in Surabaya.
Starting from the forum of Islamic religious studies and discussions about the problems of Muslims. The forum finally gave birth to a determination to carry society project by establishing an institution in the form of boarding school.
Activities began with renting a house to accommodate children orphaned, abandoned, school dropouts and people who can not afford that come from various villages. They are educated to have the ability to take part in the community, armed with a solid faith, a noble morality and ability to live independently.

Permission of Allah Pesantren Hidayatullah able to realize their own dormitories on waqf land area of 1500 m2. from Prof. DR. H. Sukarjono, First Vice Rector of ITS at the time, which is located on Jl. Kejawan Putih Tambak  VI / 1 Surabaya.
With the help of the community, helpful activities orphans, school dropouts increased to educational institutions professionally managed, in the form of kindergarten, elementary, junior high school and College of Islamic Religion.

MISSION

  • Integral Education Organizing, which develops Ruhiyah aspects (spiritual), Aqliyah (intellectual) and Jismiyah (physical and skills).
  • Prepare candidates for future leaders.
  • Helps improve the quality of Islamic educational institutions.
  • Providing quality education services for the poor (weak society.)

EDUCATION PROGRAMS

The educational program currently managed Pondok Pesantren Hidayatullah Surabaya consists of:

Play Group and Parks childhood “Yaa Bunayya”
Is a pre-school education which aims to plant a positive personality from an early age. Learning methods have been developed following the latest educational developments, such as the use of central systems, competency-based curriculum and so forth.

Integral SD Luqman Al-Hakim (Full Day School)
SD “Luqman Al-Hakim” applying it Full Day School system, students learn in school for a full day, starting at 07.30 till 16.00. Full Day School system with schools expected to have sufficient time to develop the knowledge, the skills and positive personality in children.

Junior and Senior High School Integral “Luqman Al-Hakim” (Boarding School)
For junior high and middle levels of the system applied to the dormitory (boarding school). Students must live in the dorms. With this system, students have adequate time to understand Islam more deeply, applying the guidance of teachers and learning to live independently.

Islamic College of Luqman Al-Hakim (Boarding School)
Islamic College of Luqman Al-Hakim is a higher education that aims to give birth scholars who have a deep understanding of Islam, professional skills relevant to their studies and be able to become agents of social change in society.

NON-EDUCATION PROGRAM
In addition to educational programs, Pesantren Hidayatullah Surabaya also has a proselytizing and social programs.
The program is realized in the form of proselytizing, the public recitation of parents and society to society, Friday sermons service, Parks Development Education Qur’an in Surabaya, conduct training and training and so forth.

While social programs realized in the form of: providing compensation to people who can not afford, to give disadvantaged students scholarships, development of street children and scavengers, held a free medical treatment, mass circumcision and so forth.

PROJECTS THAT HAVE EXECUTED

Development of rural farming communities in sub Mojoagung Together Jombang district, 1992. The project is a development to increase farmer’s income, spiritual formation, increasing the education of children with early pension tional informal. This program lasted for four years.

Development of rural farming communities in sub PANCENG Campur Rejo Gresik, 1994. The project is almost similar to the above project is community development to increase farmer’s income, spiritual formation and improve the education of children with the handling of informal education. This program lasted until now.

Development of children scavengers in villages Keputih Sukolilo Tegal district, an area east of Surabaya. The project is in the form of handling the education of children who drop out of school, spiritual guidance for parents, skills training for parents in building a conducive atmosphere in the family. This program lasted from 1996 until now.
In addition to several projects above, the Pondok Pesantren Hidayatullah also had to handle some short term projects such as training in the use of financial software for small and medium entrepreneurs. This event is a collaboration between Hidayatullah with the World Bank (May 2001), rotating capital assistance for the scavengers who represents cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Trade with Pesantren Hidayatullah (June 2003).
When there is disaster in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, 2004, Pesanten Hidayatullah involved in the recovery program that lasted until today. Pesantren Hidayatullah in cooperation with Plan International, Islamic Relief and several other donors.
Currently being developed:

1.      Completing the establishment of environmental education Pesantren Hidayatullah integral in Surabaya, which includes software and hardware aspects.

2.      Realizing the availability of Digital Library (Digital Library), which can provide a variety of science and complete information in multiple languages.

3.      Building IT Centre, which is expected to be a learning tool for IT students at LPI Luqman Al-Hakim Pesantren Hidayatullah, as well as can be the center of IT development for the world of Islamic education in East Java.

CLOSING

Alhamdulillah, pretty much has been done by Pesantren Hidayatullah for the community; especially in the field of da’wah and social education. Yet what is there now is still very far from ideal.

Recognizing all the limitations that exist, the board of Pesantren Hidayatullah always open hand involvement of various stakeholders to refine and develop it.
